Sizing Guide
Here at Linenfox, we are all about conscious, slow living. To us, taking a slower pace in life means more mindfulness, appreciation, balance, and comfort. Usually, when reaching for such a state of mind, you strive to be more comfortable in yourself and in your own body as well. There’s no doubt you still want to look good, but you also want simple, comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict your moves. We designed our clothes to be loose-fitting just for that – so that the pieces you wear let you enjoy the journey of life, instead of putting you into a box.
Linenfox uses European sizing system. You may notice that our clothes are available in either in-between sizes: XS, S-M, and L-XL, or in single sizes: XS, S, M, L, and XL. The clothes that are available in three sizes are mostly oversized, and the fit that they give is likely to be baggy. On contrary, the clothes available in five sizes are supposed to be true-to-size. If you prefer something more fitted, you should look out for pieces with a single sizing letter.
It’s important to understand that just because our clothes are mostly loose-fitting, that does not mean all of the designs will suit the same. Almost all of our clothes have a different fit so it is very important to check each garment’s description prior to ordering. There you will find all the details of each piece; comparing your measurements to the ones given will help you choose the best size.
How to take my body measurements?
Before placing an order for Linenfox clothing, you should know your body measurements. Body measurements are taken with a soft measuring tape. You should wear light clothes such as jersey or underwear to get precise measurements. If you wear a bra, be sure to put on the best fitting one that you are going to wear under the selected garment.
Measure your bust all the way around the fullest part of the bust. Do not breathe in at the moment of checking the measurement. The tape has to be snug and flat.
Measure your waist at the narrowest part of your torso.
Measure your hips around the fullest part of the bottom. Depending on your shape, the hip measurement may need to be taken around the fullest part of your thighs.
For some clothing, you may need to take your bicep, thigh and calf measurements.
Place a measuring tape around your bicep. The hand should hang down.
Place a measuring tape around the thigh roughly around 2 inches down from the crotch.
Place a measuring tape around the widest part of your calf.
How to choose the right size?
Now when you know your basic measurements, you should compare them to the actual garment measurements, which are given in the description of each product.
A tight or slim fit may lead to unwanted wear or thinning out. Tension in the fabric may loosen the seams, so it is important that the garment does not feel tight around the bust, shoulders, and arms. Linen is a woven non-stretchy fabric, and some ease is highly important so you can move in the garment.
Your body measurements should be smaller than the measurements of a garment. Only the waist measurements of pants, shorts, and skirts have to be smaller than your waist because they would stretch.
The clothes can be either true-to-size (though designed to be loose-fitting) or oversized.
The recommended wearing ease for tops that are true to size is about 8–10 cm / 3.14–3.93 in.
The recommended wearing ease for bottoms that are true to size is about is 6–8 cm / 2.3–3.14 in.
We also recommend measuring your clothes for comparison.
Customization

Why can my linen garment wear out?
Linen is made from the fiber of the flax plant. Unlike synthetic materials, the linen fabric is more prone to damage and premature wear. This may occur because of several reasons related to the size of the garment, frequency of wearing, and body shape.
If the garment is not loose enough, the constant tension in the fabric and seams is likely to loosen the seams and cause tears or thinning. If the size is good for you but you have a specific body shape, the fabric may thin out in the thigh and bottom area because of friction.
Linen is a delicate fabric. With every wear, it gets looser and softer. If you choose a linen garment in which you sit a lot, it is possible that the part on which you sit gets thinner over time. Perspiration also affects the fabric, so it is important to keep the garment clean.
