Introducing Linenfox Men: Our First Linen Collection for Men

After twelve years of creating linen clothing for women, Linenfox is stepping into something completely new. Our first linen menswear collection is finally here.

This first drop has been in development for months. We wanted to start small and focus on pieces that feel true to Linenfox while bringing a different perspective to the collection. Shirts, pants, shorts, and a jacket form the foundation of Linenfox Men, with an emphasis on practical details, comfortable proportions, and simple silhouettes.

Why Linenfox Men?

The reason it took us so long to create a men’s collection is actually quite simple: we never seemed to have enough time. For years, our team focused its resources on developing and expanding the collections we already had.

But as the years went by, one question kept coming back. Why don’t you make clothes for men? When will Linenfox Men finally happen? We heard it from customers, followers, friends, and people around us more and more often.

Eventually, our team decided it was time to stop postponing the idea. We needed to make room for it, push ourselves a little harder, and simply start.

And that is really how Linenfox Men began. There was no complicated strategy behind it. After years of hearing the same questions, it simply felt like the right time to finally make it happen.

The Inspiration Behind the Collection

When we started working on the first Linenfox Men collection, we found ourselves looking back at menswear from the 1980s and 1990s. We were especially drawn to the simplicity of the clothes from that period and the way practical details became a natural part of the design.

Relaxed and straight silhouettes, comfortable proportions, useful pockets, and uncomplicated construction became the main references for the collection. Workwear also played a part, particularly when developing the pants, shorts, and jacket.

We didn’t want to recreate clothes from a particular decade. Instead, we took the details we liked and brought them into the Linenfox aesthetic. Linen naturally changes the character of these familiar shapes, giving them a softer and more relaxed appearance.

This approach became the starting point for the first collection and helped us decide which pieces we wanted to introduce first.

Our Approach to the First Collection

Menswear is a new market for Linenfox, and we are still learning what our customers will respond to. We don’t yet know which pieces will become favorites or what people will want to see more of.

For that reason, we wanted the first drop to stay small and considered. Instead of introducing too many designs at once, we focused on a selection of pieces that work naturally together.

The shirts, pants, shorts, and jacket can be combined in different ways, but each piece also works on its own. This gave us a clear starting point without making the first collection unnecessarily large.

For now, this is just the beginning. As we learn what works, Linenfox Men will continue to grow and develop with new designs over time.

Developing the First Linenfox Men Pieces

Developing the first pieces took time. Menswear brought new proportions, fits, and details for our team to work with, so there was plenty to learn along the way.

We made samples, tried them on, discussed what worked, and went back to make changes. Some adjustments were small, while others made us rethink a particular detail or proportion completely. Seeing a garment on a person often tells you much more than looking at a pattern or drawing.

Fit was especially important. We wanted the clothes to feel relaxed and comfortable without simply making everything oversized. The length of a shirt, the width of a pair of pants, the position of a pocket, or the proportions of a jacket can completely change how a garment looks and feels.

Fabric also played an important role. Most pieces use our familiar linen, while the jacket needed more structure, so we chose a heavier linen for it.

It took several months to bring everything together. For a first collection in a completely new category, taking that extra time felt necessary. We wanted to launch Linenfox Men only when the pieces felt right to us.

Caring for Linen Menswear

•  Looking after linen is actually refreshingly simple. In fact, regular wear and washing help soften the fabric over time, giving your linen shirts, trousers, shorts and jackets an increasingly comfortable, lived-in feel.

•  • Wash at 30–40°C (86–104°F) using a gentle cycle. A cooler, gentler wash protects the fibers and helps every piece keep its shape wash after wash.
•  • Wash similar colors together, especially darker shades. This keeps rich tones from fading or bleeding onto lighter pieces.
•  • Avoid bleach or harsh detergents. Linen fibers are strong, but harsh chemicals break them down faster than normal wear ever would.
•  • Air dry whenever possible to help preserve the fibers. It helps to preserve the fibers and keeps the fabric’s natural drape intact.
•  • Iron while slightly damp if you prefer a crisp finish. A damp iron smooths creases far more easily than a dry one, so you get a clean look without extra effort.
